Second man charged after 13 kilos of cocaine found in gas canister in Queenborough

A second person has been charged after 13 kilos of cocaine were seized by police after the drugs were found hidden inside a gas canister in Queenborough.

Officers reported finding the Class A drugs after they stopped a van travelling in the Thomsett Way area at around 7.50pm on Tuesday, September 15.

As part of the investigation Mosin Quadir, 26, of Durham Terrace, Bradford, was charged on September 17 with possession with intent to supply cocaine and acquiring criminal property.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court the next day and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 16.

Then yesterday, a second man, Vilmantus Jocius, 33, of Kesteven Way, Northamptonshire, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and with possession with intent to supply cocaine and also of driving while disqualified.

Jocius appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded in custody.

He will appear before Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be set.
