Fire crew tackle car blaze in Delamark Road, Sheerness

A fire crew was called to put out a blazing car in a driveway.

The fire is believed to have started at the back of a Fiat parked in Delamark Road, Sheerness.

It quickly caught hold with flames consuming the vehicle and black smoke covering the street.

Residents heard three loud bangs which were possibly the car's petrol tank exploding.

A single appliance from the nearby Sheppey station was sent at around 5.30pm yesterday, and spent 25 minutes at the scene. There were no injuries.
