Crafts created by students at Richmond Academy helped raise £700 at the school Christmas fair

Pupils created their own gifts to sell at a school Christmas fair.

Bags of sweets, candles in decorative jars and a tombola were among items crafted by children at Richmond Academy.

With a selection of stalls to choose from, parents, carers and family members ensured business was brisk.

The pupils’ handiwork paid off, helping raise an impressive £700 for school funds.

Richmond principal Jacqui Lockwood said the fair was a joint effort between the PTA and academy.

She said: “Children worked in groups to plan what they were going to sell and make items.

“It taught them about co-operation and working together.

“The fair was really well organised and very well supported by parents.

“We will get together with the PTA to decide what in-school projects the money will be spent on.”
