Car crashes into Sheerness safety barrier

Emergency services are in Sheerness after a car smashed into a crash barrier.

Police, fire, and ambulance have been called to Trinity Road where a car is embedded in a metal safety barrier outside the former HSBC bank now used by the Jo Li Martial Arts club.

The crash happened about 11am at the junction with Sheerness Broadway near the Royal Hotel.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a single vehicle collision in Trinity Road, Sheerness, at 10.49am.

"It was reported that a car had been in collision with roadside railings. Officers attended alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

"The scene is now clear."

A spokesman for SECAmb said an ambulance was called at 11.11am. He said the driver was treated at the scene but did not have to go to hospital.
