Sheppey: Stay indoors warning over dangerous dog in Cliff Gardens, Minster

Police say a dangerous dog has been 'contained' after people were warned to stay indoors.

Officers were called to Cliff Gardens in Minster, Sheppey, near St George's Primary School, at 10.20am following a report that an unaccompanied dog had attacked another dog.

A spokesman said: "The dog is then reported to have been acting aggressively in the road and officers were deployed to the scene, where they currently remain.

"The dog has been contained, however a cordon remains in place to ensure public safety."

Shortly before 11am, Kent Police Swale tweeted to warn people to stay indoors.

They said: "Officers are currently dealing with a dangerous dog in a public place in Cliff Gardens, Minster-on-Sea.

"Members of the public in that area are advised to remain indoors and others are advised to avoid the area whilst the incident is brought to a safe conclusion."

The dog's breed is not yet known.
