EastEnders’ Danny Dyer and Love Island winner Dani host open day at Priory Hill Holiday Park in Leysdown, Sheppey, for Sky TV show The Dyers' Caravan Park

Fans got to meet Danny and Dani Dyer at an open day at the caravan park they are running for a new reality TV show.

The former EastEnders actor and Love Island winner took selfies and pictures at Priory Hill Holiday Park in Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey as it opened its doors to the public today (Saturday).

It comes as the pair continue to film for their new show, The Dyers’ Caravan Park, which is set to air on Sky Max and Now later this year.

It will follow them as they take the reins of the business, which includes Priory Hill and sister site Nutts Farm, in a bid to make the Great British caravan holiday “cool again”.

Dani, who has recently returned from her honeymoon after marrying West Ham football club captain Jarrod Bowen, kicked off the event by opening the gates at the front of the site, in Wing Road. Around 20 visitors were there waiting for her.

She was soon joined by her dad, known for his role as Mick Carter in the BBC soap, who arrived on a coach that had brought people down from London.

The 47-year-old made a small speech thanking the visitors for taking a look around the Sheppey park, where caravans and chalets are up for sale.

He said: “We are proud to be part of this gaff, as is my little Dani, who has just got back from her honeymoon.”

“I’m very jealous. I wanted to go on that honeymoon,” the West Ham fan added.

“If anyone is interested in chalets or caravans, as it’s a great holiday, come and ask me any questions.

“If you want a cuddle or a photo or whatever, I am here for you. Enjoy your day out. There’s a barbecue on the firm, and there’s a ride over there with the chavvies.”

Some of the visitors and residents took him up on his offer to take pictures and selfies, as did Dani – who gave one family a tour of a caravan.

All the while, a TV crew from Expectation – the production company behind Clarkson’s Farm – was filming the Dyers, staff, residents, and visitors for the six-part series.

Cleaning company manager Dean Couldridge, was watching on with his wife Louise, 53, daughter Kaylee, 11, and her school friend Abi Lacey, 12. The south London family have had a lot on the park for the last three years and visit regularly.

Dean, 54, said: “It’s really positive to have the Dyers here, as it will bring the park some attention.

“We come here as my family visited the camps here for holidays when I was very little, and my dad pretty much grew up on the Island. So we have just carried it on.”

One of the first visitors to arrive was foster carer Sharon McLaren, who has lived in Minster for seven years and was celebrating her 64th birthday. The grandmother-of-six, who has a chalet at one of the camps in Eastchurch, toured the park with her husband, Lionel Watson, 63.

She said: “I know there are a lot of TV crews down here, but I hadn’t seen them before, so it’s exciting.

“It’s good for the club and the site.

“You don’t normally come across people from the TV.

“I haven’t seen anything that Danny has been in, but lots of people really like him.

“It’s good for the Island, as he’s really popular.”

Dyer has spoken previously about his fond memories of spending childhood holidays at the arcades, at the seaside crabbing, and going on beach walks.

He has also already featured in a social media promotion for the caravan park.

In the video, which has attracted more than 45,000 likes on Instagram, the actor has a go at being an estate agent, to comedic effect.

Dyer’s face also features on a 40ft trailer, which was rolled out in a field off the A249, near the Sheppey Crossing in February.

It features a caravan coming out of his mouth while exclaiming, “It’s The Nutts!!!”

Dani holds up a sign which says “You’d be Nutts to miss out”.
