Five sought after attack on pub landlady

KENT Police are anxious to speak to five people, four men and a woman, after a vicious and unprovoked assault outside a public house.

The landlady was left black and blue in the incident.

The drama unfolded after a woman was asked to leave The Napier public house at the junction of Alma Road with Marine Parade at Sheerness, following an incident with another drinker.

As she was escorted off the premises, she allegedly threw her drink at the landlady and then tried to 'glass’ her. Other members of staff came to help and were also set on by a group of men.

The landlady said: “I have never seen anything like it. I’m still reeling and can’t believe what happened. I can’t remember some parts.

"I was on the floor being punched and kicked by these men and the next thing I remember is seeing my partner and son in pools of blood. Both were unconscious. It was a scary, unprovoked and bizarre attack.”

Investigating officer PC Clive Fowler said: “All reports will be fully investigated and treated in the strictest confidence.”

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Fowler on 01795 584080 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.

The attackers are described as:

* A white woman in her 40s, about 5ft 2in, of large build with dark waist length hair. She wore a denim jacket, purple chiffon top, a short denim skirt with gold detail around the hem and black knee high boots.

* A white man in his early 20s, of stocky build, 6ft, bearded with short mousey hair. He wore a dark T-shirt and jeans.

* A white man in his early 20s, about 5ft 9in with short spiky hair. He wore a dark hooded top.

* A white man in his mid-30s to early 40s, 6ft, of slim build with short dark hair. He wore a dark T-shirt with writing across the middle and jeans.

* A white man, 6ft, with short ginger hair. He wore a purple long sleeved T-shirt and smart black trousers.

The incident occurred just before 11pm on Friday, October 14. The landlady said that despite what happened it was now business as usual at the pub.
