A fun day to raise money in memory of a dad lost to cancer has been declared a success by the daughters who organised it.
Sisters Stevie and Keighley Savill arranged the family fun day at the Ivy Leaf Bar off High Street, Sheerness, on Sunday.
Stevie, 19, and Keighley, 22, lost their dad Steve, 47, to pancreatic cancer two years ago.
The day was to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Hundreds of people came along to enjoy the bouncy castles, face painting and barbecue, and 4 Seasons Theatre Group were also entertained the children with some games.
There was a sword fighting and fire breathing show, and Sheerness resident Ross Walker, 28, was sponsored to eat a packet of chillies.
There was also live music provided by vocalist Sue Kemp, soul and singer Roy Lesley, female-fronted rock covers band Dead Reckonin’ and Ben, a Michael Jackson tribute.
The money is still coming in from the event, and Stevie hopes the total could reach £1,500.
She said: “We are ecstatic.
“The place was booming until the end of the night.
“We are grateful to everyone who came along and donated and everyone who came and showed their respect.
“It was brilliant.”
Stevie said the event was organised after the money from a fund-raiser they held last November was stolen.
