Sheppey cyclist dies in London hospital after crash on Sheppey Way in Queenborough closes Kingsferry Bridge

A cyclist has died in hospital after a crash on Sheppey, police confirmed today.

The man came off his bike as he rode on Sheppey Way, just past the Kingsferry Bridge.

Police said no other vehicles are thought to have been involved in the crash, towards Cowstead Corner in Queenborough.

Officers were called to the scene at about 7.50pm on Tuesday and the bridge was closed.

The man was taken to a London hospital, where he died the following day.

Police said his next of kin have been told.

Officers are seeking witnesses to the crash or who saw the man cycling on a blue Specialized Roubaix Expert bike.
