A 20-year-old man is due to appear in court today after a supermarket stabbing.

Ashley Cobb, of Emerald View, Warden, was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with affray, possessing a knife, theft and criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates Court today.

During the incident outside Tesco's supermarket in Bridge Street, Sheerness, a woman in her 30s received cuts to her hand.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
