Sheppey: John Brazil charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Rushenden

A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a Remembrance Sunday stabbing on the Isle of Sheppey.

John Brazil, who was added to Kent Police's "most wanted" list last month, was arrested in Derbyshire yesterday.

The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder.

The attack, which took place in Manor Road, Rushenden, on November 11, left a 24-year-old man, named locally as Ryan Abbott, so seriously injured he had to be airlifted to a London hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance for emergency surgery.

He has since been discharged.

Brazil, who is understood to have connections in Sittingbourne, appeared before Medway magistrates today.

He was remanded in custody until he is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.
