The high street was blocked to traffic after a man was rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties.

It happened at about 11.25am this morning outside the old Woolworths store in Sheerness.

Police and ambulance crews were on the scene.

The 56-year-old man was treated at the scene and then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with breathing difficulties and chest pain.

Traffic was queued behind the ambulance until it moved away.

The scene was clear by about 12.15pm.
