Man's body found on seafront

THE body of a man with slashed wrists was washed up on Sheerness seafront on Sunday morning (March 28).

Police were called to Bridge Road just before 8.30am, where the body was floating found face down by the sea wall.

He was pulled from the water and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Paramedics say he had cut wrists.

A post mortem examination was being carried out on Tuesday (March 30) to decide whether or not an inquest would be held.

Police say the 49-year-old from Sittingbourne was last seen alive at 7am. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
