Minster face a difficult test of their title aspirations on Saturday when they take on promotion rivals High Halstow

Victory over Chestfield on Saturday by 111 runs put Minster level on points with Division 3 leaders Upchurch but third-placed High Halstow haven’t given up hope on promotion themselves.

With just four league games left, Minster captain James White knows his side have to hold their nerve.

White said: "There will be a lot of tension and a lot of competitive play between the two sets of players. With the way the league is set up, it’s going to be a big game.

"If we slip up against High Halstow it will mean it will be tough for us again."

The win over Chestfield on Saturday was routine enough as White opted to bat first after winning the toss.

The captain top scored with 44 and Jordan Weller hit an unbeaten 32 on the way to Minster’s 210 off their 50 overs.

It was a big ask for Chestfield in reply and they were bowled out for 99 with Nathan Nichol (4-24, pictured), Martin Hammond (3-26) and White (3-35) claiming the wickets.

"Chestfield just didn’t want it," said White. "They were trying to bat for a draw. It wasn’t the best game to watch but it was a good one to win."
