Nichol’s season best figures in the league of 6-38 took him top of the Kent League bowling table with 33 wickets and after claiming a five-wicket haul on Sunday, he took his total tally to 50.

That figure takes the paceman past last season’s total of 49 and on course to smash his 2007 best of 70 wickets.

Minster were looking to bounce back from a couple of poor showings with the bat and they set the Old Boys a tough target on Saturday.

After posting 240-9 off their 50 overs, Nichol then swept through the Colfeians batting order and they were bowled out for 131.

Kevin Barker top scored with the bat for Minster with 69.

Captain James White said: "The way the track was and with rain around the place, we knew 240 gave us a strong chance. Nathan is bowling with some serious heat and the win took us back up to fourth."

Nichol (pictured) took five wickets for just one run on Sunday as Minster beat Frittenden by 106 runs in Kent Village League, Division 6.
