A dog walker was left fuming after finding poo with a Union Jack stuck in it – just a couple of yards from a bin.
She came across the bizarre sight on Sheerness Beach, between the swimming pool and the lifeguard hut.
The resident, who did not want to be named, regularly picks up rubbish along the route when she walks her dog.
But on Sunday (February 2) she came across the flagged poo, with several more discarded Union Jacks scattered nearby.
“This person needs to get a life, to be honest," she said. “I just looked at it and thought ‘how pathetic’.
“Why you would carry a little bag of flags around and poke them in random people’s dog poo is beyond me."
The odd method of highlighting canine excrement has been seen before.
In May 2023, Margate residents discovered several droppings across the town with Union Jack flags stuck in them.
One person said they were “popping up all over the place”. At the time, the culprit was dubbed “the poo flagger”.
And last August, an exasperated park user in Sittingbourne also took it upon themself to educate people about picking up their dog mess.
While some found it amusing, others found it annoying.
On this latest occasion in Sheerness, the frustrated resident said the excrement was only an “arm's length” away from an actual bin.
She added: “They're obviously trying to make a point.
“If you're a bad owner and you're not picking up your dog poo, somebody sticking a flag or putting a chalk circle around it isn't going to make you more aware, because you're not going to do it anyway.
“This is a problem everywhere to be quite honest with you.
“In the end, I picked it up and put it in the bin – somebody's going to walk in it otherwise.”
