HomePlus Furniture to open new store at Neats Court Retail Park in Queenborough, Sheppey

The last unit has finally been filled at Sheppey’s retail park – after sitting empty for three years.

HomePlus Furniture has moved into what used to be Poundland at the Neats Court Retail Park in Queenborough.

The furniture shop, which has stores in Ashford, Maidstone and Chatham, already has one on Sheppey, in what was the Chainstore Warehouse in Power Station Road, Halfway.

Courtney Rose, the firm’s director of web development and marketing, said: “Our store in Halfway will be staying as it is as it’s really popular - we are just expanding to reach more of the Island.

“Neats Court is a great location as well, with lots of free parking. There are many shops there that are really popular and have remained busy throughout the lockdowns too, which is promising.”

When asked what customers could expect to see at the new Queenborough store, Courtney said: “We sell everything for the home. We have furniture and accessories for the bedroom, dining room, living room, we do sofas, suites, mirrors, lamps, and we also have seasonal bits, so for the garden in the summer time.

“Anything that you would imagine in your home, we have got.”

“We are also well-known for having really unique and, sometimes, quirky pieces too,” she added.

“In lots of our customer feedback, they say we are an Aladdin’s cave of furniture.

“We have got your classic pieces, like solid oak ranges, as well as modern display cabinets.”

The new store will open on Friday, December 4 - after the second national lockdown has ended.

“We are just adding the finishing touches now,” Courtney said. “The showroom will be in what we refer to as room settings, so an area each for the dining room, bedrooms and so on.”

She added: “We are very excited to have another showroom opening on Sheppey and look forward to serving many customers when we are out of lockdown.”

Poundland closed in March 2017 before reopening in its neighbouring store – next to B&M. The old unit had been vacant since.

The new HomePlus Furniture store will be open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. It will also offer deliveries and collections.
