Sheerness-based Rule and Rule estate agents celebrates centenary

A long-standing Sheerness firm celebrated its 100th anniversary with a fundraising tea party.

Family, friends and former employees joined current members of Rule and Rule estate agents staff for Friday’s festivities at the company’s Broadway HQ.

Guests, including members of the public, tucked into a selection of savoury snacks and browsed through an array of historical documents.

Some of the artifacts, such as old ordnance survey maps, dated back to the turn of the century. There were also vintage STG newspapers from the 1950s and 1960s to enjoy.

Staff and previous partners were presented with a crystal, commemorative paperweight in recognition of the anniversary. The afternoon raised £340 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Joanne Broster, a joint-partner of the business, said: “It was a brilliant afternoon, a lovely way to celebrate the 100th anniversary and raise funds for a very worthy cause.”
