A249 Sheppey Crossing closed

Police closed part of the Sheppey Crossing amid concerns for the welfare of a man.

Officers confirmed a rolling roadblock was put in place on the Island-bound carriageway as a precautionary measure while they investigated at around 5pm.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were responding to a concern for welfare of a man.

"The man has since been located."

The road has since reopened.
