Emergency services rescued the man and he is now safe and well.

The incident comes almost a week after a couple were rescued from the same spot.

The duo were fined after being pulled from the mud following a lockdown rambling trip from London.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said of today's incident: "KFRS was called at 12.53pm to reports of a person stuck up to their thighs in mud approximately 100m (330ft) from shore near Cliff Drive, Warden.

"Firefighters using specialist mud rescue equipment managed to free the casualty and pass them to the care of the ambulance service.

"Our activity was complete at 2.03pm."

South East Coast Ambulance was contacted for comment.
