Police were called to a suspected arson attack in Sheerness this morning.

Fire broke out in the garden of a terraced house in Alma Road at about 3.20am.

A shed and its contents were destroyed and guttering attached to a neighbouring property was also damaged.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Two fire crews were called to the address, with thermal image cameras being used to detect hot spots once the blaze had been extinguished.

They were stood down at 4am.

A police spokesman said inquiries into the blaze were ongoing.
