Sheerness East extended their unbeaten run to four games with the 4-1 defeat of University of Kent on Saturday.

The students started the Vandanel Kent County League, Division 1 East match brightly but midway through the first half East went ahead after Paul Colenutt converted Ben O’Neil’s cross.

East doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark when defender Jon Baylis turned in another O’Neil delivery.

Elliott O’Reilly pulled one back for the students but the two-goal cushion was restored when Gary Andrews latched onto a loose ball just before the interval and tucked it away.

Two minutes into the second half Sheerness East struck their fourth, as Colenutt claimed his second with a volley from the edge of the area.

Sheerness face Premier in the Bill Manklow Inter-Regional Challenge Cup this Saturday, kick-off 1.30pm.
