Nine new clubs will join the Sheppey Sunday League for the forthcoming season.

Four of the newcomers are based on the Island while the other five are from Sittingbourne.

B&W Athletic, Aviator A, Jolly Sailor and Eastern Athletic are all from Sheppey, and Sittingbourne Dogs, Sporting Sittingbourne, Milton Park Rangers and Bourne Rovers are based across the water.

The other team entering for the 2009/10 season are Gillingham side Livingstone AFC but they will also be playing their matches in Sittingbourne.

The new additions are welcomed by league secretary Mark Rogers (pictured).

He said: "We are pleased with the amount of clubs that we are attracting in light of the amount of football that is available in the area and for the valuable support of our sponsors, especially in the current economic climate, we are truly indebted.

"The 2009-2010 season looks to be an exciting time for all of us connected to the Sheppey Sunday League."
