Footage of adults at under 10s football match involving Sheppey United Youth FC and Greenways FC in Larkfield goes viral

Footage of parents brawling at an under 10s football match after a fight between the young players has emerged online.

A shocking video of the incident, which involved Sheppey United Youth FC and Rochester’s Greenways FC, was shared online over the weekend and shows fathers storming the pitch and hitting each other.

It comes after an altercation between two boys in the match, which happened back in November at Brookfield School in Larkfield, following a tackle.

The school leases the fields out to the local teams on a Saturday and Sunday and its pupils were not involved.

Shortly after a third player weighs in and throws a punch at an opposition player.

Immediately after, parents can be seen sprinting onto the pitch, including one father who seems to make contact with a child and leave him on the floor.

Tensions then begin to flare and a brawl starts as adults from opposition sides go at each other.

Scared youngsters can be seen trying to avoid the fight as shocked onlookers call for the children to get out the way as the fight carries on across the pitch.

At this point, the first boy who is punched is still on the ground and is trampled as the angered parents, including a man in a cream hoodie, runs at a man in black tracksuit bottoms and a black jacket.

A worried woman quickly intervenes to lift the boy to his feet before a large group surrounds the brawling adults.

At this point, punches are being thrown and people are being shoved, including one man who is caught on camera tumbling out of shot after a push.

Some of the youngsters, who can only stand and watch, can been heard being told by one woman to “go over there”, while another boy says to another “come over here” and “stop being a d*******”.

Reacting to the three-month-old clip, Sheppey United Youth FC said in a statement: “We are aware that a number of videos are being circulated this evening both on WhatsApp and social media of an incident involving one of our teams. This incident occurred in November 2024.

”Sheppey United FC have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to abusive behaviour.

“This incident has been thoroughly investigated by the appropriate members of our club, the county FA and the relevant league.

“Sharing this video, which includes a number of children from our club and the opposition club, poses a great safeguarding risk to all involved.”

KentOnline has decided not to show the video.

A Greenways FC statement said: “Over the weekend a video of an incident between the U10s of Greenways and Sheppey United has been circulated on social media.

“The video was not filmed with consent and the sharing of this video poses a safeguarding risk to all children involved.

“The club are working with the Kent FA and the league to identify the origin of the video and appropriate steps will be taken to remove in line with safeguarding guidelines.

“The incident itself was last year and has been investigated by the Kent FA, Maidstone Invicta Primary League and the case is now closed with sanctions put in place for both clubs.

“The club do not tolerate such behaviour and have since taken steps to enhance our behaviour policy to include a Respect Marshall at all games and in-house sanctions for poor behaviour from players and parents.”

The Kent FA chief executive Darryl Haden said: “We are aware of the video footage related to an incident that occurred during a youth football match last year in Kent.

“Following a thorough investigation, the relevant charges were raised, heard and sanctions were imposed in line with Football Association regulations.

“The Kent FA remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing behaviour in grassroots football.

“We will continue to support and guide our footballing community to ensure a positive, enjoyable, and safe environment for all participants.”

Despite being in Larkfield, the match didn’t involve Larkfield FC or any of its players.
