Silver bullion worth £15,000 stolen during Minster knifepoint burglary

Detectives have launched an investigation after £15,000 worth of silver bullions were stolen from a pensioner during a knifepoint aggravated burglary.

Officers were called to Back Lane, Scocles Road, Minster at 9.30pm yesterday after the 76-year-old victim reported that three men had forced their way into his home and threatened him with a knife.

The men took £200 from the victim’s wallet and the silver bullion, varying in size from a cabinet before leaving.

All three suspects are described as white men between 5ft 8 and 6ft and wearing dark clothing. One was thought to be wearing a grey Bench hoody and the other was wearing a black baseball cap with an England motif.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Jay Robinson said: “The victim has understandably been left very shaken by the incident and we are following up a number of enquiries to try and identify the suspects.

“I would urge anyone who may have information or offered the bullion to get in touch.”
