Smashed windows misery for motorists

YOBS have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage as they targeted cars in a window-smashing spree.

About 10 cars had their windows smashed in Alexandra Road, Sheerness, and nearby and Marine Parade.

Among the victims was mother-of-four Caroline Bailey.A rear window in her Chrysler Grand Voyager, left outside her home in Alexandra Road, was smashed, causing £400 worth of damage.

She will be left £60 out of pocket because of an excess charge on her insurance policy.

Mrs Bailey said: “I just think, why do people have to do this? What do they get out of it?”

Police, who are investigating the attacks, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
