Sheerness teenager to appear in court over serious assault in Leysdown

A teenager will appear in court charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent following a serious assault in Leysdown.

The 18-year-old man, from Sheerness, cannot be identified yet because he has been charged by postal order, rather than at a police station.

He has been summonsed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 27.

The charge comes after officers were called to Leysdown Road at 1.33am on Sunday, July 9 and four men were found to be injured.

Two men were seriously hurt.

Officers are continuing to investigate and have released CCTV images of three men they believe may be able to help with their inquiries.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Abbi Noon, said: "Since the incident, we have carried out a full investigation which has resulted in the charge of one man, however, we believe there were others involved.

"I appreciate this incident is a while ago now but I would urge anyone who recognises the men in this CCTV to get in touch with us as they may have important information about the assault."
