Sheerness lifeboat was called to rescue it just before 5pm and towed it to a mooring at Cuxton Marina.

The Ole Schroder RNLI lifeboat launched again at 1.10am on Monday so its three-man crew could help four people trapped aboard a 15ft fishing boat aground near Hoo island on the Medway.

It was leaking and needed towing to Hoo Marina where its occupants were handed over to Medway Coastguards rescue team.

The inshore lifeboat was launched again at 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday) to a yacht aground on Queenborough Spit but the skipper wanted to stay onboard until the high tide.
