Crash closes The Broadway at Minster, Sheppey

A two-car crash closed a road on the Isle of Sheppey for more than two hours this morning.

A black VW and a bronze-coloured Seat were in collision in The Broadway, Minster, just before 9am near its junction with Abbeyview Drive and Kent Avenue.

The Seat was forced onto a grass verge by the impact of the crash and narrowly missed a telegraph pole.

The VW was left facing the wrong way and is believed to be a write-off.

Motorists were forced to find alternative routes until the road was reopened at 11.15am.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.52am to a two-car collision in The Broadway, Minster.

"No injuries were reported but the incident caused the road to become obstructed."
