A white tipper-style truck has been seized following an investigation into several fly-tipping incidents.

The vehicle was found on the Isle of Sheppey earlier this month after it was thought to have been used to illegally dump waste in Bromley.

It is now being stored, and depending on the outcome of the investigation, it could be crushed.

A spokesperson for Bromley Council said: “The council is taking action against fly-tippers and detailed investigations are very much part of that approach.

“Where evidence exists, the council will and does seize vehicles where it is suspected they have been used in fly-tipping and ultimately, this could lead to the vehicle being crushed.

“We would like to thank the police for their support in this latest vehicle seizure operation and for their ongoing support.

“We would remind residents to carefully check the credentials of traders who are being entrusted to dispose of waste, making sure the person is a licensed waste carrier.”

The seizure and investigation is part of the local authority’s work against fly-tippers who profit by charging unsuspecting businesses and residents to dispose of waste, only to illegally dump it elsewhere.
