Woman tripped by dognappers

A WOMAN was tripped by two youths who then ran away with her dog. It happened on the sea wall at Neptune Terrace, Sheerness, between 10.40am and 10.50am on Sunday.

The 33-year-old, from Broadway, was walking her dog along the sea front when she passed two boys sitting on a bench. One tripped her and she fell to the ground, letting go of the dog's lead. The boys then ran away with the dog. The woman chased the boys, but lost sight of them in Alma Street. When she returned home, a friend was waiting outside with the dog, which had been found running loose around Richmond Street. The dog's collar and lead, valued at £23, were missing.

The youths were aged 15 to 16, both with short brown hair. One was wearing a cream top and blue jeans, the other had a dark blue top and jeans. Witnesses are asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
