Armed police in Elm Grove, Sittingbourne and outside Bobbing Apple in Sheppey Way after man seen with weapon

People are being told to stay inside after a man was seen with a weapon.

Armed police are out responding to a disturbance in Elm Grove, Sittingbourne, where it is reported the man was carrying a weapon which so far has not been identified.

Witnesses have seen police around London Road, Chalkwell Road and West Street following the incident just before 1pm.

Armed patrols have also joined officers in a car park outside the Brewer's Fayre Bobbing Apple off Sheppey Way, Bobbing, as they continue to search for everyone involved in the disturbance.

Officers were seen with a police dog searching two white vans in Elm Grove.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. There have been no arrests."
