A car trader is facing a bill of hundreds of pounds to move his marketing lorry after it was set ablaze.
John Barnes, the boss of Quick Cash Cars, says he was “very annoyed” when he heard about the fire inside his lorry which was parked on the roundabout which connects Eurolink Way and Crown Quay Lane in Sittingbourne,
Police have launched an investigation as they believe the fire on Wednesday, February 12 was started deliberately.
Officers had been sent to the scene at about 8.10pm after fire crews had attended 10 minutes earlier to put out the flames. There were no injuries reported.
Both the emergency services say they believe the fire is “suspicious”.
Investigators have now issued an appeal to help them find out what happened.
Anyone with information should contact police on 01795 419119 quoting 46/24933/25.
Mr Barnes says it will cost him around £700 to £800 to get the lorry moved as the inside is burnt out and undrivable.
He said: “I have no idea who did it. It is very annoying that some idiot has done this.”
