Chance to influence county's future

PEOPLE in Swale can comment on plans for the county over the next 20 years at a public meeting being held on Thursday night (April 18) in Sittingbourne.

Mapping Out the Future, a consultation document setting out issues ranging from the number of homes needed in Kent to future travel and job expectations, will be discussed at the meeting in Swale House, the headquarters of Swale Borough Council.

The consultation is being held by Kent County Council and Medway Council as they prepare the first Kent and Medway Structure Plan which will steer development, investment and the protection of the county's environment.

The document can be seen at borough council offices and local libraries, or on www.kmsp.org.uk.

The meeting starts at 7pm in the council offices at East Street, or you can send your views to the Land Use and Transport Police Unit, KCC, Invicta House, Maidstone ME14 1XX, telephone 01622 221732, by May 17.
