The fire, which happened on April 25 and saw more than 100 emergency service personnel attend Precision 4 Business Park, resulted in records and machinery going up in smoke.

Investigators have told the Hormozi family that they aren’t able to establish the cause of the fire due to the extent of the damage.

Since then, the owners have been trying to get back to roasting coffee, something they have done for 25 years.

Rubin Hormozi told KentOnline how the firm has struggled to get back on its feet as it waits for an insurance payout.

“I had to sell my car just to keep everything going,” the dad of one said. “It has been devastating.

“In terms of money, it has cost us around £500,000. We own the two units and we have kept reinvesting in them over the years.

“My parents were looking to retire, but they won’t until the business is back on its feet.”

But, some hope is on the horizon, with the firm finding a temporary home on the industrial estate at Precision 2 Business Park.

The Hormozis are also hoping that their four coffee roasters, worth more than £100,000 altogether, will work again.

Rubin added: “We have not had the chance to put gas into them as the new unit was basically an empty shell, but we believe they were only damaged by water pumped in by the firefighters and not the blaze.

“We are hoping they work and will be roasting again by the end of this week or next week.

“I can’t wait to get behind a roaster again. I have not been speaking about coffee when normally it's all I talk about from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed.

“It will be a relief to start on a small scale again.”

The firm launched a GoFundMe page a day after the fire.

It has since raised more than £9,200. Rubin says he cannot thank people enough for helping them rebuild the business.

He added: “Without the support we have had from our customers, our friends, our family and local businesses, some of whom have become family, I do not think we would be close to roasting again.”
