Southeastern trains delayed after lorry hits bridge

Commuters suffered delays after a lorry smashed into a railway bridge.

Southeastern trains were held after the HGV hit the bridge near Sittingbourne at around 6.30pm.

Network Rail engineers were sent to the scene to investigate the damage.

At 8pm, the train operator said the bridge had been checked and trains were running running over it at normal speed again.
