Now the 44-year-old, of Illustrious Close in Chatham, has been given an interim driving ban until he is sentenced later this year.

Georgia Mann died after the accident on a slip-road on the Sheppey-bound carriageway at Bobbing, near Sittingbourne in October 2018.

The Audi, in which she was travelling, had broken down after running out of fuel on the slip road.

Georgia, from Milton Regis, was sitting in the car when it was struck by Henley's white Volkswagen Caddy on October 24.

The teenager, a pupil at Westlands School in Sittingbourne, was taken to King's College Hospital in London where she died two days later.

A second man will now go on trial in November accused of causing Georgia's death by careless driving.

Andre Trenton, of Malvern Road, Gillingham, who is 21, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on bail until his trial.

Trenton, who was one of the people injured in the crash, is a former footballer for Ebbsfleet and Dartford.

Judge David Griffith-Jones QC ordered the preparation of probation reports for the sentencing hearing for Henley, which will take place after the conclusion of Trenton's trial.

Around 500 people turned out to keep a candlelit vigil in memory of Georgia last October.

Hundreds also lined the streets in Sittingbourne to say farewell to the teenager as a horse-drawn funeral procession took her through the town.
