B2006 Eurolink Way in Sittingbourne closed in both directions after accident

An accident caused long delays for drivers heading home.

The B2006 Eurolink Way in Sittingbourne was closed in both directions after a collision between a motorbike and a car.

There were reports of slow traffic near the junction with The Wall and Milton Road at the entrance to Sittingbourne Retail Park.

The accident is understood to have happened just after 3.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.32pm to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Eurolink Way near Milton Road, Sittingbourne.

“Officers are currently in attendance, and the road has now been closed while the incident is being responded to.”

Company Travelmasters warned customers on its Facebook page that nearby Swale Way has also been shut due to a police incident.

Number 371M was expected to be late, however, all other services had been diverted in time.

It said: “Students asked to remain on the bus with the driver, the bus can’t turn around in the vicinity that it is and will have to wait for the road to open.

“Police have advised that they don’t know when this will be. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.”
