Sittingbourne Marks and Spencer worker reunited with engagement ring after losing it during shift

A Marks and Spencer worker has been reunited with her engagement ring after it went missing from her hand during a shift.

After hours of frantic searching at the M&S Foodhall in Sittingbourne, and an appeal on social media for any shoppers who might have found it in their carrier bags of shopping, Kady Robinson’s beloved ring was found in a tray with the couscous by a colleague who was stocking up the salads.

The ring was lost on Saturday, July 3, and later found.

Kady, a customer assistant at the store, in Mill Way on the Sittingbourne Retail Park, said: “I have no idea how my engagement ring went missing.

“I just looked down at my hand and realised it wasn’t there.”

The 36-year-old, from Sittingbourne, who has been working for M&S for nine months, added: “It is, of course, very special to me.

“I’m grateful to have found it.”

Kady and her fiancé Jordan, 37, who have not yet tied the knot, have been engaged since 2007.

The miraculous find earlier this month came after M&S customers in the town were asked to rummage through their shopping bags to help locate the missing engagement ring.

In a post on Facebook, along with a close-up picture of Kady’s jewellery, the store said: “Could all our lovely M&S Sittingbourne customers please check their shopping bags for this engagement ring.

“A member of staff lost it while at work and is obviously heartbroken.

“If you do find it please contact the store.”

The post had been shared more than one hundred times and dozens of regular shoppers had vowed to help with the search for the sentimental piece.

The store later informed customers, via the social media platform, that the ring had been found.

A spokesman added: “ Thank you to everyone who shared our post.”
