Coronavirus Kent: KCC has supplied 1.4 million pieces of PPE in 20 days

Kent County Council has distributed more than 797,000 pairs of rubber gloves to its frontline staff in 20 days.

It has also shipped out 258,400 face masks,10,660 respirator masks, 319,200 aprons and 14,307 sets of goggles.

In all, it has supplied more than 1.4 million pieces of personal protection equipment (PPE) in 700 deliveries between April 3-23.

Gordon Henderson, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, said: "I would like to congratulate Kent County Council on its extensive work to deliver PPE to its frontline staff across Kent.

"All the PPE and deliveries have been made free of charge and are essential to support the safe provision of the council's services to the most vulnerable."

The gloves are broken down to 10,260 for extra large, 251,420 (large), 380,300 (medium) and 155,400 (small).

There were also 4,825 bottles of 100ml hand sanitisers, 120 of 500ml sanitisers, 112 packs of 5-litre sanitiser and 16,000 clinical waste bags.
