A car has crashed on the M2 causing delays coastbound.

The accident happened at around 8.30am between junction 5 for Sittingbourne and the A249 and junction 6 for Faversham.

Police confirmed one lane is obstructed and no serious injuries have been reported.

Officers, Highways staff and the South East Coast Ambulance Service are at the scene.

A recovery vehicle has been arranged.

Traffic is slow in the area due to the closure of the inside lane.
