M2 partially blocked near A249 Sheerness junction after three car crash

Motorists faced long delays on the M2 after a crash.

Police were called to the motorway at 5.45pm this evening after a crash near the junction for the A249, Sheerness and Maidstone.

No injuries were reported and there was heavy traffic tailing back to Medway services on the coastbound carriageway.

Kent Police has stated the crash happened on the London-bound carriageway.

The roads had reopened at around 7.30pm.
