Drivers faced lengthy delays following a crash involving two lorries, a van and a car.
The collision was on the Sheppey-bound carriageway of the A249 between Bobbing and Iwade, near Sittingbourne.
Traffic was queueing from the B2006 junction at the Bobbing roundabout to the B2005 Grovehurst Road turn-off to Kemsley.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We were called at 8.25am to a collision involving two lorries, a van and a car on the Sheerness-bound carriageway of the A249 near Bobbing.
"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where two people were treated for minor injuries.
"They have both been taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."
The carriageway was closed between the Key Street junction and the Bobbing slip road while the vehicles were recovered.
