Sittingbourne: Lorry ploughs into vehicles parked in Swale Way, Great Easthall

A lorry ploughed into parked vehicles on the only road in and out of a Sittingbourne housing estate.

Police were called just after 8.15pm yesterday after the HGV hit another lorry in Swale Way.

An ambulance was called but it is understood no one was seriously hurt.

A police spokesman said the collision involved two lorries. He added: "Officers attended the scene.

"The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended as a precaution, however no injuries have been reported."

An ambulance service spokesman said: "Two patients were treated at the scene but no one required hospital treatment."

That section of Swale Way, which is unlit, has become notorious for lorries using it for overnight parking.

During the day, it is used by buses.

It is the only road in and out of Great Easthall and the newest sections of the Eurolink Industrial Estate.
