A MAN accused of attempting to murder a police officer pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.

Terence Waters, 54, of The Street, Sittingbourne, allegedly tried to kill PC Robin Brenchley on August 14.

He also pleaded not guilty to attempting to wound the officer but admitted affray on the same date.

The case will return to court on December 6. Waters was remanded in custody.
