Man in court after theft from shop in St Johns Avenue, Sittingbourne

A man is due to stand trial after being accused of robbery and assaulting an emergency worker.

Dale Boyle, of Cavell Way, Sittingbourne, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on August 11 after being charged following an arrest at 4am the day before.

On August 1, police were called to a shop in St Johns Avenue in Sittingbourne at about 11.05am.

Two bottle of alcohol were reportedly stolen before one was used to cause minor head injuries to someone inside the store.

The 24-year-old appeared in front of Medway magistrates on August 11.

He will stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court on September 8.
