Police swarmed Sittingbourne town centre today after concerns were raised about the welfare of a man.

At least four police cars pulled over on the A2 London Road, surrounding a car, at around midday.

According to witnesses, a man was shouting as he was led away by officers.

A police spokesman said officers were called to carry out a "mental health assessment" but would not give further details.
