Emergency crews were called to reports of a gas leak at a Morrisons distribution centre during the early hours.
Two fire engines rushed to the premises in Fleet End, Kemsley, near Sittingbourne just before 1am.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews were called at 12.50am to reports of a possible gas leak at a commercial premises.
"Two fire engines attended, however it was a false alarm."
Crews left the scene at 2.06am.
A Morrisons spokesman said: "We can confirm an alarm was activated last night due to a faulty panel.
"This has now been replaced and calibrated."
The incident comes almost a week after a worker was injured following blaze at the distribution centre.
Nine fire engines were called just before midday on Tuesday, March 7.
