Large emergency services presence in Sunstone Drive, Sittingbourne, following medical incident

A large number of emergency vehicles were stationed in and around a residential street for most of Sunday.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Sunstone Drive in Sittingbourne at 7.40am, and remained there for "a number of hours" due to a medical incident at private address.

One of two fire engines later left the scene, but still in the street and surrounding roads at 7pm were an ambulance, police car, fire service car and incident support vehicles for both the fire and ambulance services.

Details about the incident have been yet to be released by authorities, and residents remain in the dark.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service would only tell reporters its firefighters were helping Kent Police, which has been contacted for a response.

A police spokesman said: "At around 7.50am on Sunday 20 March 2022, Kent Police was called to Sunstone Drive, Sittingbourne where they assisted South East Coast Ambulance Service with a medical incident."

While the South East Coast Ambulance Service said they wouldn't be commenting on the matter as it happened at a private address.
