Mexican restaurant Tacos Locos in Sittingbourne High Street set to open soon

By the start of November, Sittingbourne will have a new Mexican restaurant, says the man behind it.

Musa Kivrak is opening a branch of Tacos Locos in the former Bull Inn pub in the High Street, a listed building. It will be similar to the one in Canterbury.

He said: “It’s been a bit slower than we thought but we now hope to open at the end of October or first week in November.”

Work to transform the pub includes rewiring, painting, installing new bars, a kitchen, new floors, an alarm system and CCTV.

Plans showing how the outside could look have been submitted for council approval.

The Mexican is not the only thing he has got planned for the town, having set his sights on the former Woolwich bank opposite for an Italian venture.

The building has been empty for seven years and, in August, a change of use application was submitted to Swale council.

If the permission is granted, Mr Kivrak intends to buy the building and convert it.

Within the next few weeks, he will begin recruiting staff for Tacos Locos, including chefs, managers, and waiting and bar staff.
